![]() ![]() ![]() He heard about a club that wanted a Saxophone player for the house band. Every time I meet another musician, and he finds out I play Sax, he asks, "Did you know Buster?" -and proceeds to tell me another Buster story.īack in the '50's when the new Rock & Roll thing was just getting started Buster needed a regular gig. He was an old big band Tenor Sax player who passed away just about the time I moved here. It's my favorite Buster story:Ībout 25 years ago when I first moved here, almost immediately I began to hear stories about "Buster". I heard this from several different people. but I've played a few where there should have been. I've never played a bar with chickenwire in front of the band. "Well, what kind of music do you play here, Bob?" I loved that line in the first Blues Brothers movie. I live in a medium sized town where most folks enjoy both types of music: Country AND Western. * this station sounds excellent and many times if I'm outside the room or not really listening closely it sounds like I have a CD playing. I would love to own a really nice tuner paired with a quality antenna, but in this huge city there are only two stations I listen to that have any decent music, one a listener-supported one that plays excellent music along with some of the live variety,* and an oldies station that plays some great 50s/60s/70s stuff.but unfortunately it plays the same tracks over and over and over again. I mainly just wanted to play around with this little guy and see if it sounds better than the tuner built into my receiver. I had a small hope it might be one of those audio "secrets" that performs much better than you think it would, but it looks like it isn't all that bad, so I'll keep my eye open for one. Ponderbear: the bottom pic is the one I was trying to describe, but I like the model in the top photo better! (thanks for the photos btw) Great info here - appreciate it everyone :thmbsp: ![]()
